Production Diary
Week 1-2
In week one and two we discussed what we are going to do in media for instance making a film and presenting our work on blogger. In these two weeks we also set up our blogs and she taught us how to post, see other peoples blog and how to post from files from word.  we also learned about the film conventions, we learned what are film conventions how do films use I and what forms of film conventions are there. Later on we learned about institutions coming  we learned what makes a big institution like Warner Brothers compared to what makes a small institution like summit we then compared one film each from these institutions and compared there success, money spent and, gross profit.



Week 3-4
In week three and four we learned about film genres, we learnt about all the possibly film genres and all the subgenres in those we learnt how film genres are identifiable by categories, classifications, similar techniques or conventions. In this week we also learned about the codes in film, the enigma code, the action code, the symbolic/ semiotic code these are the codes used to get the message across.  We went over  the narrative in a film. we learned that the narrative is not the film itself but yet a telling  of the story which is why it is often called written narrative. 



Week 5-6   
Coming back from half term in week 5 and 6 learned what is a storyboard, how to make a storyboard and what is a storyboard used for as we'll be using a storyboard in the later weeks. We was taught also about different theories about film; we studied the reception theory which states that 'media texts are encoded by the producer and are loaded with messages'.  We discussed the male gaze theory in which it states that 'the concept of gaze is one that deals with how an audience views the people presented'.  


Week 7-8
we watched the start of the film Juno and story boarded it in order to re-do our own versions of it. We filmed this re-do of the film opening in a group and I done it with Ryan, Harry and Toby. We completed it and are now just finishing editing. 

Week 9-10
In these week coming back from the Christmas Holidays we reviewed the film opening project what we'll be doing for the next 4 weeks. We went to the film festival on the first week which taught us what we need to do for the film opening project. In we got in our groups and thought of a plot and genre that we could've used for our film opening we decided to chose horror because it'll be the easiest to do. We finally started to do our storyboard and got a quarter if the way through. 

Week 11-12 
On the first week of these we finished the storyboard we done and finalised what we wanted to do and what the story-line will be. Later on in this week we learnt all the techniques on how to edit a video. A editing expert came in to school later in week 12 and told us how to properly edit all of the videos that we done also how to put foley sounds and visual explosions in to our videos.

Week 13-14 
On these weeks we videoed the film that we storyboarded on the first week we filmed at the asylum but we didn't think that this was good enough so we used this as a draft and on the second week of these we started to film the one which we will eventually use as the final copy. 

Week 15-16
On the first of these weeks we finished filming the final copy of the asylum. On the last of these weeks we started to edit the film opening.

Week 17-18
On the first of these weeks we looked back on the footage that we just took and tried to decide how we were going to edit the film in what parts and how we were going to edit it and in what parts. On week 18 we started to edit the film that we made in the previous
